Founded in 2022, Pentasweet is a Lithuanian biotechnology company pioneering a modern sugar-reduction solution: sweet protein brazzein. Brazzein is a protein molecule that is up to 1,500x sweeter than sugar, is non-caloric, gut-neutral and does not cause blood sugar spikes. For production we use precision fermentation - a sustainable, scalable method that allows us to produce brazzein identical to the molecule naturally occurring in Oubli berry from West and Central Africa.
