Lieve Herman obtained her Ph.D. in molecular biology and is the head of the Technology and Food Unit at ILVO (Flemish Community, Belgium) and manager of the Food Pilot. She chairs the scientific committee of the Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain and is vice-chair of the EFSABIOHAZ Panel. She chairs the EFSA QPS (Qualified Presumption of Safety) working group. Additionally, she chairs the Scientific Advisory Board of the OECD Cooperative Research Programme.
